The fish seem to be wanting to bite a little bit again today, we got off the dock with 35 anglers. the day started with a bang and then it went dead for several hours then it turned on again. the weather is great reported Capt. mike Z Jr. With the warm water still moving in, the fishing should be stellar this weekend and in to next week. the counts for yesterday and today as follows

05/16/2012 3/4 day: 38 anglers/1 boat: 4 Yellowtail, 53 Rockfish, 17 Barracuda

05/17/2012 3/4 day : 35 anglers 7 yellowtail 31 barracuda and 37 rock fish

we still have plenty room for tomorrows trip and in to the weekend.

Fishing was really nice today. with the Malihini finishing the day with 20 yellow tail for 33 anglers:

20 Yellowtail 61 barracuda 3 calico bass and 20 rock fish. weather was awesome.

we are at it agian tomorrow we have change our departure time to 5:30 am so we can be the first or second boat on scene. the counts for the past few days  as following

36 anglers on our trip for  05/05/2012 combined for  1 yellow tail 22 rock fish 1 ling cod and 6 barracuda

21 anglers on our trip for 05/06/2012 combined for 42 rock fish 3 ling cod 2 sheep head 46 sculpin

21 anglers on our trip for 05/07/2012 combined for 1 calico bass 3 yellow tail 25 barracuda1 sand bass and 10 rock fish

25 anglers on a 3/4 day local charter on 05/12/2012 combined for 2 and bass and 150 rock fish

and yesterday 05/13/2012 16 anglers combined for 10 yellow tail 60 rock fish

Over all fishing has been pretty good. the yellow tail are starting to show, they are starting to bite.If you have not been out in a while come on down and get on the boat the loads are still lite as you can see from the passenger counts. to make a reservation you can get on line at malihinisportfishing.com or go to hmlanding.com. the malihini is out today fishing will report later this evening with those results

Well it looks like we are back at what we do best that’s fishing. Really good scores on the salmon grouper, vermillion reds rock cod. We have ran four  trips and have not had any problems to speak of.

The fishing has been very good as I said earlier with limits of grouper and lots of reds and other species mixed in the counts for the past three days as follows

03/02/2012 13 angler’s 31 white fish, 15 rock fish, 23 vermillion reds and 41 bocaccio/ salmon grouper

03/04/2012 18 angler’s  39 vermillion reds, 2 sheep head, 2 ling cod, 80 bocaccio/salmon grouper , 50 rock fish

03/07/2012 21 anglers 210 rock cods

03/08/2012 15 anglers fished local half day 1 sand bass 2 calico bass and 24 rock fish

As you can see from the counts fishing has been really good we need folks to come on down. We have spots open for Saturday so 03/10/2012 and room on Sunday. All you need to do is call the landing to make your reservation. Or you can go on line to www.malihinisportfishing.com/booking
